Frequently Asked Questions- Will this reset the password on ANY Windows® operating systems?
Yes, this will work with all versions of Windows 7®, Windows Vista®, Windows XP®, and the new Windows 2000®.
- Will this software unlock a BIOS or hard drive password?
No, this will only reset the user's password on Microsoft® Windows. We currently do not have any solutions to unlock BIOS passwords, but will update the listing when we do.
- (For PC's formerly used at workplace) This computer used to be used on a network and there is a domain at my login screen along with the username and password fields. Will this software clear the domain too?
This software will not clear the domain, but on most PC's there is an option to log on locally rather than using the network domain (found at the login screen). This software will still be able to clear the password regardless, but you may want to verify first that you can change the domain login to a local connection first. Please contact us for additional support with this :)
- Will this allow me to change the username and password once the password has been reset in Microsoft® Windows?
This software won't change the username or password, but we can help you easily change the username and/or add a password! Please ask and we'll be glad to help!
- Can I use this softare on a USB stick to clear the password?
No, unfortunately this software only works on a CD at the current time, but we are actively looking into a solution for USB sticks to clear PC's without a CD drive. The files on the CD are also protected so it isn't possible to transfer them to USB either (trust us, we've tried)!
